1 - HOW IS THE IPHONE X

Apple has been using for too long the design it introduced for the iPhone 6, but that changes with the iPhone X. There is a huge departure from the old iPhones design, Apple has done a fantastic job at making it feel really good too, its THICK, different from the old ones, that always wanted to show a slim pattern.

This phone is simply AMAZING. It’s slightly taller than the iPhone 8 but much narrower than the iPhone 8 Plus. It has the perfect balance, especially since you are getting a 5.8-inch display.
The aluminum sides have been replaced for stainless steel and the front and rear of the device are made of glass.

A concern is how the iPhone X will last over time. No matter how unscientific they might be, drop tests indicate that Apple still has more improvement to do before users can go case-free.
In the front of the iPhone X is where its magic work out. The iPhone 8 has an bezel running around the display, but the iPhone X doesn’t. Apple has pushed out the screen to the edges, significantly reducing the bezel, it adds a nice contrast to the bright display. In my opinion, its a great different.

The lack of a thick bezel means that there is no space for the Home button, a feature present on every iPhone version until the X. As a result, there is no Touch ID fingerprint scanner. Instead, the iPhone X sees Apple introduce the FACE ID.

All of the components for Face ID are housed in what’s being called the "notch", by the popular mass. You will find the notch at the top of the display, and it disrupts the pattern of all-screen look.
You will notice it when the screen is on, especially if you’re playing something full-screen. But in all other instances it fades into the background. Certain apps blank out the notch, and some apps still need to be updated to ensure important buttons aren’t hidden by it.

There is been much talking concerning the notch, with regards to it ruining the experience. Once you begin using the phone, however, it simply blends into the background. The notch has become common sight since the iPhone X came out and other phones like the LG G7 and Huawei P20(and others) have both brought the design.

In the space either side of the notch you’ll find the battery indicator and time. Though, you will not be able to see the battery percentage remaining or whether you have a pair headphones connected without opening the Control Center, for an example.

I have used Samsung’s face unlock and iris scanners a fair bit, and have never been impressed by either their speed or accuracy. So it was important that Apple’s Face ID worked every time (and fast).
It works accurately in both the light and dark and it works if you’re, holding a baby, brushing your teeth, or wearing glasses, for an example. There have been reports that twins have fooled it, but that's a one in a million case, no worries.

The "notch" is where all the Face ID bits are housed. The face ID is not perfect(as expected), but neither was Touch ID, the fingerprint scanner was poor if your fingers were slightly greasy or wet and that's for the 8 and 8 plus, because the 6 and 7 sometimes didn't work at all or worked really slowly.

I have found that Face ID struggles, if the phone isn’t close enough to my face(I've found a lot of reports of this one though). If you’re the type of person who tries to take a fast look at their notifications with your phone at pocket-level then you’re going to be a little sad.

Apps that previously used Touch ID as a means of unlocking will automatically be replaced by Face ID without the need for an update, and you can of course use it for Apple Pay payments too.

Apple switch out its usual LCD screen tech for an OLED panel for the IPHONE X, the first time they did that. Many other phone company makers have been using this technology for a time now, and it’s good to see Apple finally joining the team with a product other than the their Watch. This is also the highest-resolution screen ever on an iPhone, with a slightly odd 2436 x 1125 pixels, plus there’s support for the DCI P3 colour gamut and Dolby Vision HDR, witch is pretty amazing.
OLEDs offer better contrast, true blacks and a more colourful picture, but of course they are not perfect.

Apple’s OLEDs came from Samsung, and while there is a small shift to blue if you tilt the device, it’s far less noticeable than on some phones, mainly from Google. Apple says it has made a few modifications to this panel, and the company’s optimization of it is different to Samsung’s, for its own Galaxy S9 and Note 8 panels. The colours on the iPhone X are more natural and the saturation isn’t that intense.

2- PERFORMANCE

Apple reused almost every major internal component making the Iphone X, with its beefy battery and dual rear camera system. A nice sized body and yet something totally different,  they actually went back to a technique so old, that we haven't seen it since the original Iphone. A dual PCB internal layout that in another creative move, uses dual lithium-ion batteries for maximum density.

Apple made a nice job increasing battery life and features like, Wireless Charging. This comes at the cost of it feeling kind heavy and thick. Its size makes easier to hold on to, even if its bezels mean an accidental drop is more likely to be fatal.

The internals of the iPhone X are exactly the same as those in the iPhone 8 Plus, making this one of the fastest phones I've ever seen. It’s powered by the A11 Bionic chip, which is ridiculously fast, plus 3GB of RAM. Aside from a few bugs in iOS 11, navigating the iPhone X is a smooth experience.

The A11 Bionic is a six-core processor with two high-power and four low-power cores. In benchmarks, it scored 10,000 in the multi-core Geekbench 4 test, which is not far off double the scores achieved by flagship Android phones. It also achieved 4121 in the single-core tests.

The lack of a Home button sees changes to the way in which iOS 11 operates. No longer is this an operating system controlled via a button, you will now need to learn some new gestures.

You now swipe up from the bottom of the display for the Home screen. Swipe and hold to access the multitasking menu. Also, no longer can you simply swipe apps away, you will have to press and then tap the "X" icon. These new gestures take a bit of getting used to but most of them eventually feel natural. The swipe up to go Home feels like it should have always been on option, but the little movement to multitask could be improved. In regards to the apps, since the release of the iPhone X the majority of apps have updated themselves to fit the display.

There are also a few bugs and oddities in the software, most of which aren’t present on the iPhone 8(but theres also bugs on the 8 that didn't show up on the X).

IPHONE X ANIMOJI

One of the iPhone X exclusive features is Animoji. I.g., emojis that you can animate through the tech that features inside the Face ID camera. It’s addictive to turn yourself into a unicorn with your facial expressions, they will be saved as .MOV files, and that means that you can send to any of your friends. Don't buy a $1000 phone so you can turn your face into a damn unicorn, but it’s indeed fun.

3- CAMERA & BATTERY LIFE

The iPhone X has dual 12-megapixel cameras on the rear, as there are in the iPhone 8 Plus. The main wide-angle camera is optically stabilized with an f/1.8 aperture and the telephoto lens has been updated. It is also optically stabilized, with the aperture widened from f/2.8 to f/2.4. Those upgrades make the camera perform a better in low-light, an area in which iPhone cameras have been lacking before. Apple says it has completely rebuilt the sensor, making it larger and faster, and there’s a new image signal processor for better textures and colours.

Pictures taken with the main camera are excellent. Photos are more saturated and with vivid colours and dynamic range. This makes it precisely amazing for landscape shots, offering a fantastic feeling of depth.

With the vastly improved secondary camera and the constantly evolving Portrait mode, those kind of pictures are just perfect. The wider aperture and added OIS means that you can now take portraits even with when the light isn’t good, with amazing results, indeed.

When you're recording video, it can be captured in 240fps slo-mo at 1080p, and 4K at a smooth 60fps. The iPhone X and iPhone 8 were the first devices to support that, but that’s now matched by Android phones.
The switch to the True Depth camera on the front, the X has now enabled Portrait mode through the 7-megapixel selfie camera too, and it feels good. This was a big feature during the iPhone X announcement.

About the battery life on the X

Apple didn't give much enthusiasm about the battery life when it introduced the X, only saying it will deliver two more hours than than the old iPhone 7, i’ve been impressed with it, though. It’s nice to see Apple finally make a small phone that doesn’t die in only a regular day at work – something that has constantly annoyed everyone about more recent iPhone models.

On the iPhone X, it joins the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus as the first Apple phones to support wireless charging. The iPhone uses the open QI charging standard, and that means the X can be powered up via a host of pads, not just the ones made by Apple. There the Apple version, the AirPower, and it will be release yet this year, 2018.

4- IS IT WORTH IT?

It really seems to me like Apple was trying really hard to make an innovative device, rather than looking forward to building a solution around what people wanted to do in their lives. An approach that probably would have involved some more investments in siri, but you know, companies and their will to profit never change.

But either way, the iPhone X represents the change in direction the series has been due for some time now. The iPhone X feels like a step forward, but this device won’t be for everyone.
I can’t really see this handset appealing to the Android crowd, there simply is not anything here that you can’t get on an Android device. If you’re an iPhone person, then you’ll absolutely love the iPhone X, all tough it is not the perfection.

Face ID is better than Touch ID in the majority of scenarios, and the screen is the best I’ve ever laid eyes on. The glass and metal body is a stunning piece of engineering, and it more than shows that Apple is still capable of designing gorgeous hardware. If it wasn't the notch, MAN, IF IT WASN'T THE NOTCH!

So, my suggestion is: This is the best iPhone I’ve ever used and one of the most beautiful phones that came in 2017, but, it has a spicy price:

There is only 2 versions, with 64 GB and 256 GB, and it comes with the colours Silver or Space grey.
The 64 GB version is $999 and the 256 GB one is $1149, as I said, it's a spice price but, if you're up too, i would recommend that for you, it's good and it feel like the future, so, go on!
