To fully understand Cyberpunk 2077, you will have to know about Cyberpunk 2020. The latter was a tabletop role-playing game from the late 1980s and early 1990s that incorporated many of the cyberpunk features. There's cybernetic enhancement, evil corporations, insane punk rock hackers, neo-noir aesthetics and of course, future drugs.
In the world of 2020, the United States is on a state of massive poverty, caused by the megacorporations influence. These megacorps takes greedy to it's max level with their own areas of interest and secret plots n plans, to gain dominion over the others. In that environment, rests California's Night City, where players would play out their adventures as corporate raiders, rebel rock-and-roll stars, street doctors or cyborg assassins.
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most-anticipated upcoming games of E3 2018, thats happening right now, and so far developer CD Projekt Red (of Witcher franchise), has been mysterious, about what the game would be like. However, at Microsoft's E3's press conference, the studio officially changed that by showing off the game and revealing some details about it.
In the end of the conference, another revelation begins: it opened with a narrator saying poverty and other major issues had made his city the worst place to live, and yet, everyone wants to be there. Then showed a train emerging into a dazzling city of dreams, a metropolis of giant buildings adorned with gigantic screens(Tokio like), where organic skin is meshed with futuristic technology.
Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced six years ago. The game is set in a "dark future" of 2077 where advanced technologies have become both "the salvation and the curse of humanity." The game promises a nonlinear story designed for "mature" players and is set in the metropolis of Night City. The studio has said that Cyberpunk 2077 is a "true RPG" and not a multiplayer shooter. Although, they also said it will have a "little" multiplayer. I think it will have some GTA 5 multiplayer elements on it, but not much.
There's yet no confirmed release date, but the game will come out for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
